Enchantments

Enchantments are minor mystical properties and results of great craftmanship. They alter items properties in many beneficial ways.
Strength of an enchantment is rated as Known, Famed or Legendary. Single item can hold one Famed or Legendary enchantment and up to two Known enchantments.

Binding

Characters and npcs with Gift of Binding are able to enchant an item with an essence. Binding requires a Downtime action and a Binding Test. Difficulty is based on desired strength of the enchantment.

10: Known
20: Famed
30: Legendary

Binding requires an Essence. These are items that can be found during adventures. Type of the Essence decides which enchantments can be gained by Binding.
• Mortal Essences are rare materials, fine schematics and monster trophies
• Outer Essences are distilled magic and strange things fallen from the starless night
• Spirit Essences can be felt as a presence within object

Identifying Enchantment

Item properties can be identified by making an Attunement Test against Difficulty 10 as an action taking Significant Time. Identify one enchantment and its strength for each Degree.
Alternatively use the item and learn the enchantments through practice.

Cursed Items

Cursed item knows to stay hidden for as long as possible as it digs its roots into wielders soul.
• Whenever hidden Curse Stirs don’t increase Burden, instead Bearer makes a note of how many times Curse has Stirred
• When number of Stirs raises to a value, 3 or 5 for example, Curse strikes increasing wielders Burden by value and provoking a Burden Test. On a failed Test Curse from the item spreads
• Character cannot voluntarily free themselves from a Cursed Item until Curse is broken
• Being without the Item will cause the Curse to Stir on Rest

ConduitKnown: Increase Attunement by +1.
Famed: Increase Attunement by +2.
Legendary: Increase Attunement by +3.
CunningKnown: Increase Intellect by +1.
Famed: Increase Intellect by +2.
Legendary: Increase Intellect by +3.
GildedKnown: Increase Presence by +1.
Famed: Increase Presence by +2.
Legendary: Increase Presence by +3.
MightyKnown: Increase Strength by +1.
Famed: Increase Strength by +2.
Legendary: Increase Strength by +3.
SharpKnown: Increase Awareness by +1.
Famed: Increase Awareness by +2.
Legendary: Increase Awareness by +3.
SturdyKnown: Increase Vigor by +1.
Major: Increase Vigor by +2.
Legendary: Increase Vigor by +3.
Outer Enchantments
Malign VisionsItem is or can be used as a weapon.
Known: Deal +1 mental damage.
Famed: Deal +2 mental damage.
Legendary: Deal +3 mental damage. Exhaust to make all damage mental.
Open EyeItem contains a Premonition that allows modifying any die roll by one. Premonitions are regained on Downtime.
Known: One Premonition.
Famed: Two Premonitions.
Legendary: Three Premonitions. When item has no Premonitions gain one on Rest.
OtherwordlyItem fully affects incorporeal and ethereal beings. Weapons are able to deal damage to them and armor is able to reduce their damage.
Known: Item fully affects incorporeal and ethereal beings.
Famed: Items damage/armor increases by +1 against incorporeal and ethereal.
Legendary: Items damage/armor increases by +3 against incorporeal and ethereal.
Chalice of MagicItem holds Power that can be given to magic. Power is regained on Downtime.
Known: Exhaust for magic one time.
Famed: Exhaust for magic two times.
Legendary: Exhaust for magic three times. When item has no Power gain one on Rest.
Partial VesselItem houses Intents from Magical Gifts. These Intents are considered to be part of the same Gift for the purpose of combining Intents.
Known: Item houses one Intent.
Famed: Item houses two Intents.
Legendary: Item houses three Intents.
Whispers of DangerKnown: Increase Reflex by +1.
Famed: Increase Reflex by +2.
Legendary: Increase Reflex by +3.
Spirit Enchantments
Wind SpriteKnown: When you move increase Burden by three to increase your Pace by one step.
Famed: When you move increase Burden by two to increase your Pace by one step.
Legendary: When you move increase Burden by one to increase your Pace by one step.
Soul of ChangeKnown: Item is able to change its appearance during Rest.
Famed: Item can take turn into one another item during Rest.
Legendary: Item can turn into three other items during Rest.
Hungry ShadeKnown: Deal damage to regain 1D4 Hit-points. Remove one Burden when you cause a Wound.
Famed: Deal damage to regain 1D6 Hit-points. Remove two Burden when you cause a Wound.
Legendary: Deal damage to regain 1D8 Hit-points. Remove three Burden when you cause a Wound.
Omen of DeathItem can be used as a weapon.
Known: On hit Inflict 1 Vigor Burden. On a failed Test reduce Hit-point maximum by one.
Famed: On hit Inflict 2 Vigor Burden. On a failed Test reduce Hit-point maximum by two.
Legendary: On hit Inflict 3 Vigor Burden. On a failed Test reduce Hit-point maximum by three.
Hidden BeingKnown: Gain +1 bonus to stealth.
Famed: Gain +2 bonus to stealth.
Legendary: Gain +3 bonus to stealth. Exhaust to gain a chance to Hide.
Guardian of WillKnown: Increase Will by +1.
Famed: Increase Will by +2.
Legendary: Increase Will by +3.
